Cadillac has stepped out into the hybrid SUV market both in style and with efficiency in mind. And that’s because their new Escalade Platinum Hybrid offers not just a real cool look with its all black body, but brings about performance with a mileage of 24 mpg. That is the number that Cadillac wishes to highlight when it comes to the Escalade, which is driven by a 6.0-litre V8 engine along with General Motors’ two-mode hybrid system. As a part of the system will be a 300-volt nickel hydride battery that will power the Escalade on as the company tries hard to integrate a classy look with cleaner vehicles and efficient engines. With a price tag well in excess of $85,000, the Escalade will soon be available in the US market. [via Autocar]
