A styling company based in the UK, Concept802 are the creative folks that came out with that amazing Range Rover Sport Platinum R Wide Body Kit. Specialized in pimping luxurious vehicles, the Brits have the experience and the amazing touch needed to make the already wicked Range Rover Sport even more beefier. So what’s on plate? A wide arch kit, a front grille, side skirts and vents, front and rear bumpers, unique exhaust tips and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. Count a set of 24-inch wheels and that’s a monster we’d much like to stress test. Wouldn’t you? [via WCF]

If the economic downturn has left you with piles of cash that you don’t know what to spend on, you should know that a new Lamborghini Murcielago LP650-4 Roadster is going to be produced in a 50-units limited production. Although we only have a leaked image with the car, we do know it features a flamboyant Grigio Telesto exterior that adds orange touches to a dark grey body work. With a beefed up engine that is nothing but a speculation for the moment (maybe Reventon’s 6.5-liter V12 engine?), the car is nothing short of breathtaking. We’d love to see it roaring on the floor in Geneva next month. [via autoblog.nl]

Geneva is going to be BIG this year. Another car that is expected to rock the floor at the International Auto Show in March, is the new Audi A4 allroad quattro. Sporting a unique grille, a restyled rear bumper and roof rails, the aggresive wagon runs on three engine options – 211 hp 2.0-liter TFSI, 170hp 2.0-liter TDI or 240hp 3.0-liter TDI, all mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The Germans really managed to outdone themselves this time, and we definitely think the 2010 Audi A4 Allroad Quattro will soon follow the success of its older brother, the A6. Looks like a great ride, don’t you think? [via Autoblog]

BMW 5 Series GT Concept

Published by on Feb 16th, 2009, No Comments

There is a car that puts an accent on “driving experience”, but won’t compromise on looks or specs. I’m talking about the new BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo Concept, that is a Progressive Activity Sedan. Some sort of mix between an X6 and a luxurious 7-series, the comfortable four door four seat coupe is definitely designed for the fashion-conscious. Not exactly in love with the front grille but it’s definitely interesting loveable if you consider the lavish interior and the amazing glass roof. Strange , yet eye-catching, we’d love to get behind the wheel for a quick drive.

Do not neglect accident scene safety!

Operational activities at an accident scene are also described as “Incident Management” – a term used to describe the process whereby a set of coordinated activities are initiated when an incident occurs on a road network, in order to minimise the direct and secondary effects of the incident, as well as to restore traffic to normal operating conditions.

As road users we need to be aware of the importance of accident scene safety and why we need to do everything possible to allow time and space for emergency personnel. The first hour after an accident is called the Golden Hour – physicians say seriously injured car crash victims need to reach comprehensive medical care within 60 minutes to ensure a good chance of survival. At the accident scene, this scenario leaves about 12 minutes for rescuers to extricate the wounded and speed them toward the hospital.
Sensitive, competent handling of victims in the immediate aftermath of the accident can have a tremendous impact on both the victim’s subsequent psychological recovery and on law enforcement efforts to solve the case.

On the Arrive Alive road safety website we have added a section on “Accident Scene Safety”. We would like to invite all motorists to gain awareness on safe behaviour near accident scenes!

At the Chicago Auto Show this week, Kia Motors America took the wraps off of their 2010 Kia Forte. Somehow sophisticated and with daring new lines, the design embraces the new path the Korean automaker is following. And to be honest, it’s nothing short of cool. Available in three versions (LX, EX and SX) you could expect a USB port for your iPhone/iPod, Bluetooth connectivity for your smartphone, a SIRIUS Satellite Radio system for loud bass, steering wheel controls or 17-inch alloy wheels. The first two models LX and EX are using a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that outputs a good 155hp while the sportier SX is propelled by a 2.4-litre engine that outputs 173 hp. Doesn’t sound bad at all, is it? [via WCF]

Don’t you hate being poor? I mean look at the interior of the 2010 Porsche Panamera and tell me you’re not drooling all over that amazing large center console that flows all the way from the dashboard to the rear seats. With an amazing leather interior in a two-tone color scheme, a steering wheel with thumb switches, or a large navigation system, we can definitely say that the 2010 Porsche Panamera looks better on the inside than it looks on the outside. The luxurious car goes on sale in Germany on September 12, and the prices for the 4.8 liter S model start at €102,251 including VAT (around $130k USD). [via AutoBlog]
