Alpina is an automobile manufacturing company based in Germany, specialized in maximizng the sporting potential of existing units. Recently they got their hands on a twin-turbo diesel powerplant from the BMW 123d, tweaked it to output 214 hp and 330 lb.-ft. of torque, to create their own D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe. It does 0 to 62 mph in just 6.9 seconds and should go as fast as 152 mph.
That’s not the best thing, though. Eco-geeks should love that car because Alpina managed to build an eco-friendly sports car that has a combined EU fuel economy rating of 52.3 mpg with a manual gearbox and 50.4 mpg with an automatic. Interested in this Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo Coupe, then prepare to pay some £32,950 (about $64,500).
