Ladies and gents we have what everyone has been looking for lately. The new Volkswagen Golf VI photos which leaked out just a couple of days ahead of the official media release. Public debut is set for October at the Parisian motor show but meanwhile let’s see what changed.
After spending too much money on building Golf V which had a great interior, good performances but an unimpressive exterior, with a long production time and high costs, the company is now trying to sell the new model (Golf 6) like hot bread. Based on the current MK V platform, with an exterior by Walter de Silva, somewhat sexier and with a more aggressive stance, the new Golf VI will have three and five door versions, a cabriolet (nothing certain yet) and of course the GTI.
The big news include the 1.6-liter TFSI engine that develops some 200 hp, 1.0-liter or 1.2-liter engines that develop 75 hp, and the twin-drive plug-in hybrid model. If you’re in for the GTI it should sport 230 hp while the R32 is going to expose nothing less than 265 hp.

the front is normal, not so bad but not nice (very close to golf 4 and 5), the back is awful, similar as touareg introduced years ago! the car is neither evolutionary nor especially revulotionary!! where goes the sporty usual golf!?!?! the golf is becoming a family car or a car for people over 90 years old, audi or seat are much better nowadays in their design, far better

almost every site on the net says that the Current golf V is not sexy and it has an unimpressive exterior. i couldn t disagree more.
the golf IV was quite good but with a boring and heavy design. with golf V i really think the car got a more agressive and stylish look, nicely done.
about the golf VI… its nice but… it is not at all an improvement considering the golg V. the golf VI it has a diferent look but for the worse and it shows poorely detailed new lines.

… owner of the v & do not see major changes, but still xcited about vi. hoped interior would be majorly beefed up(c audi & mazda). just hope they sorted the dash-tray & sunroof rattles on the vi.

I remember the first golf 5 Gti I laid my eyes on..It was a black on black car with that honey comb grill and those big 18 inch detroit rims..it knocked my breath away..for some reason the car according to these pictures look “tame” and the experience of seeing this car for the first time cant be compared to that of the golf 5..think I’ll hang on to my MK5 a little longer!

It looks quite good to me, but a lot similar to the current Golf V.
Apart from the slightly sexier exterior, are there any significant improvements under the hood?
