German tuners have just unveiled their BRABUS D3 S POWER XTRA upgrade for the new 2008 Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI. The plug-in kit produces an additional 50 PS (49HP)/36.8 kW more power and an extra 80 Nm of torque combined with maximum environmental friendliness in harmony with the euro-IV emission limits.
The upgrade proffers the sedan with a processor-controlled auxiliary control unit with integrated injector drive module which comes with a ready-to-connect wire harness and detailed installation instructions and can be quickly installed by any Mercedes-Benz dealer.
The tuning kit works perfectly in combination with the standard particulate filter of the C 220 CDI to give more power. Regardless of the increased performance, emissions of the turbodiesel engine remains on the low level of the production car. The boost in torque gives the C 220 CDI superior pulling power even at low engine speeds, making ‘passing maneuvers’ shorter and safer.
With the sprint time from 0-100 km/h of 7.8 seconds, the C 220 with the Brabus performance kit takes almost a full second less than the production car. The top speed of 239 km/h exceeds that of the production model by 10 km/h.
From outside, the fully stainless steel Brabus quad sport exhaust adds icing to the cake. In addition to the performance tuning, Brabus offers an extensive customization program for the new sedan. The product range includes a sporty yet elegantly shaped aerodynamic-enhancement kit, sporty suspension modifications from a simple lowering kit to a complete sports suspension, high-performance brake systems as well as exclusive interior accessories including handcrafted fully leather interiors.
It was way back in 1979 when Brabus had first of many customers from the UAE and installed the first audio multimedia system with TV and Video in 1982. Later it was recognized by some big automakers like Mercedes-Benz, Smart and Maybach. Till date, Brabus has marked many landmarks such as breaking the World Top Speed Records for production saloons. This time Mercedes-Benz C220 CDI with a new plug-in kit from Brabus hope to improve on that strong identity of theirs, although you always know Brabus would come out of something worth an eye!

I live in London and have ordered the C220 to be delivered next week. I have looked into the brabus chip which i will be getting installed for around £1300.. Well worth it considering at would have been an extra £4000 for the C320 which has similar performance to the Brabus. I cant wait to get this car!!!

I have ordered one as well, the estate version! My kit was just over £1200 and fitted by the Merc dealer locally on pdi. Can’t wait to drive it.

I’ve got the C220 Sport with AMG body kit which is nice but imo you’d be better off spending the money on the brabus chip for the extra performance. Dont have it on mine yet but the only thing i coudl improve about the car is the accelleration – Sometimes feels a bit slow pulling away and the brabus would definitely solve this.
The car is so good though and the AMG bodykit does look mean!
I have owned my new Brabus chipped C220 for a few weeks now and it is awesome. Performance is closer to a 320 and I am getting 35mpg round town driven carefully.Haven’t done a long run yet but expecting 50mpg. If the car did not have a brabus kit i would probably have bought a bmw m sport but the merc is so pretty. Get the chip it is like driving a completely different car ,yes, it is expensive but well worth the money!!
Comment from Merc dealer was that since I had ordered mine ( it was used as a demonstrator for three months) they have sold more cars with the chip as everyone that drove it couldn’t believe te difference it made.
